Erika always did well in school, despite making time for her various boyfriends, and was able to get into a good college to study nursing. Her father is a prestigious surgeon, so it was obvious from birth that Erika would be pressured into the medical field. In truth she wants to study art, but her father has always been adamant on Erika following in his footsteps.
As Erika has nursing training and experience, she instantly bonds with Jay, and develops a huge crush on him. Erika tends to dislike Samantha, because Jay cares for her, but there is defiantly no hatred. Erika also has some feelings for Dorian…
&& James Grey'The Badboy'
University: Cook County Community College
Major: Undecided
Age: 20

James Grey is the Island’s Badboy, the person constantly causing chaos and reeking havoc. On the surface James just seems like a major asshole with an ego problem, but under the surface James is struggling with a recent emotional trauma and thoughts of suicide.
Growing up James’ father was out of the picture and his mother was a drunk, so James was generally left to raise his younger sister, Ashley. Ashley was always a bright kid and, secretly, James’ best friend. One night during his sophomore year, James took his sister for a joyride on a stolen mustang. James got into a major car accident that night, totaled the car, and paralyzed his sister. The accident destroyed James and he attempted suicide. Fortunately for James, his drunken mother came home to find James nearly dead and dialed 911. Months later, at a court hearing, the Judge Ordered that James spend two years in Juvenile Detention. After his sentence, the Judge Ordered that James attend the Summer Research Camp, as she saw a great deal of potential in James due to his outstanding SAT Scores. James still struggles with guilt and thoughts of suicide from the accident.
On the Island, James definitely clashes with Jay constantly. And although he and James fight regularity, the two eventually mellow out. James is very attracted to Samantha, who reciprocates some of these feelings. James is also a frequent visitor of Jessica's.
&& Arnold Smollet'The Weirdo''
University: Rutgers University
Major: Chemistry
Age: 20
Affiliation: Initially Neutral, Main Antagonist
PlayBy: Dane DeHaan
Arnold is an odd character. Quiet, shy, and unassuming, Arnold might seem like just a typical, shy person. However, beneath the surface Arnold can be cold hearted, manipulative, and downright dangerous.
At first glance, Arnie is relatively likeable--although he is quiet and shy he often appears to want to chip in and help out. But this budding young psychopath never does anything without a motivation. His back story is somewhat of a mystery, although he does admit that he comes from New Jersey, was adopted at birth, and was home schooled most of his life. He was studying Chemistry and has a good understanding of science, with a particular interest in toxins.
What Arnold lacks in size he more than makes up with his ability to convince others to do what he wants. There's also something else that's bizarre about this young man, although its difficult to place. It's yet another one of The Island's mysterious secrets. Arnold Smollet will ultimately become the chief antagonist of this story.
&& Jessica Boniello'The Drama Queen'
University: Carnegie Mellon
Major: Theater and Music
Age: 19
Affiliation: Neutral

Jessia is the castaway least suited to Island life. Devoid of her lip-gloss and makeup, Jessica is lost. Back in the real world, she was the “Queen Bee’ of her High School, as well as the stereotypical cheerleader. However, there is more to this particular cheerleader than one would expect. It was just assumed that Jessica, the Head Cheerleader, would end up with Brad, the Hunky Football Quarterback, and Jessica was thrilled with Brad asked her out. Jessica fell in love with him, but Brad only wanted her for her body. When Jessica stopped putting out for him, Brad began to beat her. Jessica found herself in an abusive relationship, and began putting out constantly, believing that she deserved being beat up because she wasn’t keeping her boyfriend pleased.
On The Island, Jessica feels like she is useless, and the rest of the castaways generally do not consult her in the decision making process. Her past abuse relationship, coupled with her inferiority complex, has turned her into a total obsessive compulsive. She constantly obsesses about how she looks and what others think of her. However, Jessica befriends Dorian, who helps her realize that she doesn’t need to constantly try to be someone she isn’t. Slightly ironic, as he is actually a spy.

On the Island, Maddy tends to be the kind of character who gets what she wants, and is comfortable sleeping with a bunch of guys. Constantly sleeping with her teacher, coupled with her inferiority complex, has turned her into a total slut on the Island. Throughout the series, Jessica has slept with James several times and has tried to sleep with Jay, although he has not shown an interest.
