Hi Everyone,

As 'The Island' grows and expands, the amount, and complexity, of our characters will also surely increase. First and foremost, this role play focuses on interesting, dynamic characters. However, as we expand, it is going to be somewhat difficult to keep track of all of our characters and their development. So, we’ve developed this area to track our progress. This area should serve as not only a way to keep track of the threads our characters are involved in but also to recap the important events from each thread. As you may have noticed, our character application, or rather audition, does not require a detailed history to be offered up front. This is done quite intentionally. As you begin role-playing with other members, you will be developing your characters’ back-story through conversations, flashbacks, memories, and other literary devices. This creates a very organic experience; after all, when you first meet a person in real life, they don’t explain their history upfront. As our characters develop, we will gradually be learning their individual histories and on-island stories. This area provides a place to keep track of these developments. If that sounds confusing, check out some of the character tracks that have already been set up!

We encourage everyone to make a tracker for their characters and we have provided a template which you should feel free to use. Our template utilizes an image and we encourage you also include an image of your character here, although you should feel free to design this graphic anyway you like. However, please keep the dimensions within 480 x 375 pixels. If you need a graphic designed for you, simply contact the site administration! Also, if you feel up to it, feel free to design your own tracker template if you would like! You are only limited by your creativity!
