"Stop fighting you fucking morons!" Katherine growled at the two men. "I'm hurt here and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to stay conscious. Let's just go back to the camp and hope this thing doesn't follow us." She hissed in annoyance. Right now was not a good time to be fighting, especially since there was a monster out there just waiting to rip their throats out. ""Katherine it's okay, your safe with us. It's me Jay, remember?" Katherine hadn't recognized his voice before but her mind provided a mental image of the man she had sat next to just after the crash. "Jay! Thank the Lord."
"I don't think it's attracted by light because I didn't have a light when it attacked me. Maybe it's more of a territorial animal and I crossed into its territory or something like that," she said, just trying to throw ideas out there and figure out the creature's motivation. Katherine wiped away the tears that hung on her cheeks. She firmly put her other hand on the ground and using Dorian as leverage she attempted to get up off the ground. But, she failed miserably and fell on her rear. She let out a yelp and said "Fuck" under her breath. The wound in her side throbbed, she let go of Dorian's hand and laid down on her back with her teeth clenched and her eyes closed. Why me of all people. Why couldn't it have been Dorian, it would've been so much easier to kill him this way, she angrily thought to herself. "Will someone help me up?"
Jay finally said something to try and keep the peace between him and Dorian. Dorian really needed to cool down, but at least he agreed with her about getting out of the jungle as quickly and quietly as possible. "Look it's probably just some kind of lemur or something? They live on tropical islands like this, the dark just played a trick on you." Alright, seriously, Katherine had had enough. She exploded and almost shouted at Jay, "It's not a fucking lemur! I'm sure as hell that a lemur wouldn't be able to knock me off my feet, wound my side, and be able to run as fast as I can." Katherine huffed and tried to get up again but the blazing pain in her side did not allow her to. It held her against the ground.
An ominous roar sounded off, this time closer to the group of four. It sent shudders down Katherine's spine and she was once again scared for her life. She heard Jay shuffle and move in front of her and the other girl. "Of course lemurs can't roar and they aren't gigantic. So it's not a lemur." Katherine rolled her eyes then hissed with a bit of desperateness in her voice, "Someone please help me up!

Although the deafening roar had faded into a ghostly echo, all four of them remained still and silent. Dorian stood firm, his knife still held tightly in his hand, listening for any sign of movement. Unlike before, he couldn’t hear that ominous rustling sound or the breaking of twigs in the brush. The only thing he could hear was the soft rustling of leaves in the wind and the sound of running water, somewhere in the distance. Seconds had passed and still no one dared say a word. Assuming the coast was clear, Dorian heard the girl at his feet hiss, “Someone please help me up”. As soon as Dorian heard the girl speak, he knew it was too late. The creature let out another earsplitting roar and charged forward, breaking twigs and rushing through the foliage. “We have to move, now!” Dorian yelled, spinning around and peering into the face of the girl at his feet. “Hey! Help me with her!” He yelled, hoisting the girl up and onto her feet, despite her shrieks of pain.
Jay moved forward to help Dorian support the girl’s weight, stumbling a little in the relentless darkness. His hand on her side, Dorian could feel a sticky liquid seeping down his hand. Now realizing the severity of her injuries, he couldn’t help but wonder if they would be better off leaving her and running. He shook that thought out of his mind—he hadn’t charged off into the jungle to end up leaving this girl to die. Had it just been Dorian in the jungle, he might have been to find her and get her out, quickly and quietly, which had been his plan from the onset. When Dorian told Erika to bring the doctor up to speed about what was happening, he never imagined they would be stupid enough to trek off into the jungle, following him! Dorian was trained to do things like this; he was more than capable of dealing with this type of situation. On the other hand, they were a couple of American college students who knew nothing about survival!
Looking over his shoulder, Dorian saw Erika standing there, evidently unsure of how to help. “Erika!” Dorian yelled, doing his best to balance half of the girl’s weight. “Erika, damn it, come here and help her!” Dorian yelled, shooting her a look of deepest frustration. He felt, rather than saw, her move forward and take the girl’s arm from him, barely able to balance her weight. Dorian turned around, staring into the jungle, his knife still held in his hand. The creature let out another loud roar and continued charging forward, getting dangerously close. “Look!” Dorian hissed, not looking at them. “Look, go. You two need to get her out of this jungle. I’ll buy you some time!” Anticipating the boy’s protest, Dorian barked, “There isn’t any time! I’m doing you a favor – move!” And with that, Dorian rushed forward, disappearing into the darkness, ready to meet his fate.

"If we have come to it's territory, or you have, or whatever, it's probably going to hunt anyone it picks a scent up on. Meaning unless we move out quickly enough, it'll find us pretty quickly," Sam stated, pushing some of the dark locks of hair from her face, looking between the men and women of the group before back up towards the darkness that surrounded them as the sound of the shrill became louder, indicating whatever it was, was in fact coming closer towards where they were. Or at least that seemed to be the thought, anyway.
Sure, she'd been silent throughout the argument...debate, heated discussion whatever people wanted to call it. Watching each of the people, make some sort fo statement as they freaked out more so (not that she was the exception, she was just better at concealing it). Maybe it had to do with the fact that she was trying to not make too many sudden movements and reopen the poor bandaging she had helping the slashes on her back. Or it was simply the fact that Sam found herself just trying to make sure that she didn't start freaking out either. Lightly biting onto her bottom lip, being careful of the cut before she pushed herself up from the log that she'd been sitting on.
As she shifted her shoulders a bit she watched the man known as Dorian rush off into the darkness of the trees and couldn't help but wonder if he was a total and complete idiot. Or perhaps he had some sort of hero complex that he needed to deal with, either way she turned her attention back towards the fellow brunette that had made her appearance known just a short while before. "So, what can I do to help?" Sam questioned, turning her attention away from the now out of sight Dorian and between the blonde female and the so called doctor of the Island. Though she wasn't all that sure that she could do a whole lot to help.
However, she'd never once been known throughout her life, as the sort of person who could simply sit back and do nothing. Even if it meant it was in one of the weirdest, horrifying, sort of situations that she found herself in at the current time. Shifting her weight from one side to another she glanced over her shoulder and back into the other side of the darkness. Either way, she had to agree that if they were to stick around here the chances of something good happening were slim. Of course, she wasn't so sure about the current state of the other female either, with her own injuries seeming to put enough strain and pain on her in their own way, she doubted being able to move as quickly as what would be liked was not about to happen. But she'd just have to deal with that, there was no way Sam was about to bolt off into the darkness of the forest on her own like the other male had gone a head and done. Deciding to help on her own terms, so moved over towards the injured female and moved herself in order to help her. "We should probably, ya know, go."

"She's right" he muttered Katherine's words reaching his ears through the space of air between the group "Even if it does follow us to the beach, with the flames and the moon light we should be able to see what it is" Jay just hoped that it wasn't still as murderous as it had been when the brunette female had come across it's path earlier. The only other thing that was bothering him about the creature was that it sounded like it was alone meaning that it could survive on it's own showing the things strength. Now he really didn't want to come face to face with it, thankfully it hadn't been circling them so their pathway back to the camp was clear.
He drew closer to the injured female his eyes quickly scanning her wound making his face go blank, she needed a doctor, she needed medication and she needed a lot more then Jay could ever give her as a med student. For the first time since the creature had roared panic surged into his figure building like an electrical current thudding through his bloodstream. He was so very much out of his depth that his eyes became blurred, his ears blocking any noise that tried to pass through him into a fierce static while the surrounding aroma filled his nostrils making him chock from the purity of it. "I know it's not a lemur, I'm just trying to keep us all calm which isn't working is it?" he asked taking a few unbalanced steps back towards Erika.
Dorian was rushing around asking for his help although the only thing that Jay could make out was his lips opening and closing with a fierce look of dedication plastered onto his face. "I can't. I'm not a Doctor" he stated panic creeping into his speech. Wait. What was worse helping the female out of the forest or staying to get eaten by some freaky creature? No he could do this. His dad believed in him, just because he wasn't around anymore didn't make him his strengths any less effective than they were before. His features cleared into a fierce look as he gently helped to share Katherine's weight with Erika. "Lets do this" exclaimed Jay with a nod as he lifted.
Jay frowned taking a step back as another female made her way towards them clearly having heard what the group was talking about although she didn't seem as anxious as the rest of them. A small smile crept upon his face once she asked to help, so she wasn't just a pretty face finally there was one on the island like Erika. "Can you help me lift her or clear us a way through um?" he wondered speaking carefully when he noticed that he didn't know her "Sorry I don't know your name"
"No we can't leave you" he yelled "We have to leave together Dorian. You can't kill that thing, did you see what it did to Katherine. Your just like a scratching post for it" Jay looked into the gap where the male had disappeared into realizing that he had been shouting to an empty space resulting in him mentally hitting himself due to not being able to physically do so with Katherine's weight in his arms. "What an idiot, if he ever gets out of there I will kill him myself and yes it will be painful" he said into the darkness not believing that he had disappeared leaving them shifting the injured female away.
He pushed forward slowly as first as the female clutched her carriers. Jay didn't need them to fall or stumble and cause more injuries to the female, god knows she didn't need anymore pain and he didn't need anything else to try to fix. "Okay we need to get Katherine out of here, I'm going to try and treat her wounds. Sam, Erika I don't know if you guys have any medical knowledge but Im going to need your help" he told them in a calm voice more pleading with them then ordering "Once that is done Dorian is getting five minutes before I go back in after him. I can't do this alone, you two with me?"
