CHARACTER VISION:
I think there is more to the character than what meets the eye. She does what her father dreams for her, and she's someone that is good to people. Does she ever think about herself? Does she ever think of rebelling against what her father wants whenever she picks up a pencil and draws? Does she crack under pressure from her studies and trying to be the person she wants to be? I think she would make for an interesting character. I want to see her grow into an even better person. I want to see her succeed and accomplish her goals. I want to see her develop a dark side, too. What would sweet Erika do when confronted with a hard situation? Would she take the easier choice even if it hurt somebody or would her sweet side prevail? I think she's would be a fun character to play as.
'WHO'S WHO?' BLURB:
Meet Erika, she's ambitious and works hard and she lives life to the fullest. She loves to bring happiness to other people, to put a smile on their face and to make people laugh and cheer. She loves to help people. She loves art and wishes she could make that her career in her life, but Erika is a people pleaser - she especially loves to make her dad happy so she is studying to be a nursing and so that is what she does. She doesn't like it and finds it tedious and hard, but Erika works hard on getting the good grades that she gets. Erika is ambitious, but not manipulative. She goes about things the right way and works hard to earn whatever she's trying to achieve.
WRITTEN AUDITION:
Erika had been working on her art when suddenly everything became chaotic. The airplane was shaking violently. She could hear the screams all around her, Erika wanted to stay calm but she too started to scream. She tried to get up from her seat, but she was stuck because of the belt. She tried to unclasp it, but her hands were shaking too much. Tears started running down her face, and darkness enveloping her as the plane finally crashed.
The first thing she felt when she came to was pain. Unendurable pain. She groaned and started to cough from the smoke that surrounded her. She found it hard to open her eyes, and panic was taking hold of her. Erika's thoughts were clouded, she tried to calm herself. She took in small breaths and another round of coughing racked her body. Erika opened her eyes and looked around with blurry eyes. She couldn't see much, but she could hear others coughing and groaning. Erika sighed in relief. There were other survivors. She closed her eyes tight, trying to assess her own body. She could feel the pain all across her body. She tried to move everything and if all seemed fine, except for across her forehead, there was a gash, blood poring forth, but not too fast and not very much, so she didn't think it was anything to worry about.
Erika willed herself to stand up, and she did so on very shaky legs a few minutes later. She blinked her watery eyes a couple of times, trying to bring the scene before her in a better image. it was useless. She needed to get out of the smoke to be able to even think clearly, let alone see anything. She walked a couple of steps and noticed a window. The glass was shattered, she limped her way toward it, but then stopped. She should try and help some of these people. But Erika didn't think she was strong enough, she was about to suffocate but she couldn't just walk out on these people. In front of her, she saw a body of a girl, she moved toward her. The girls eyes were closed. Erika tried to find a pulse, but there were none. Erika's tears were not only from the smoke now. She was about to lose conscious and she would die here if she didn't get out of the wreckage. She limped her way to the window and slowly but surely climbed out of the broken window.
A few minutes of painless effort and she was finally outside. But smoke was still thick in the air. She coughed. Erika crouched on all fours, crawling her way toward the ocean that she thought she saw right in front of her. As she cleared the smoke, she could see others, some laying on the floor, others trying to help out. Erika wanted to help, but her body was failing her. She wouldn't even be able to make it to the ocean. Erika was able to clear the smoke, but her body was becoming heavy and her eyes wouldn't stay open. She couldn't fight it anymore and darkness surrounded her once more.
