All was silent as the evening began to grow later. The Paris city traffic and nightlife actually beginning to wind down.
But the peaceful silence above the city didn't last long. It never did in this city, it seemed.
A brief hiccup of silence, followed by the sound of air rushing to separate from a once unoccupied space; leather reflected the moonlight which poured from the full moon as a female appeared, tumbling from mid air, onto the rooftop, and rolling a bit until coming to a stop. Letting out a small whine of pain, Sofia didn't embellish it for too long - before she was scrambling to her feet, and beginning to run across the rooftop. She could already feel the warm ooze of blood drizzling down her arm - even through the leather. Though now, there was a sizable gash sliced on her upper arm where the bullet grazed.
She could hear the distant sound of shouts and footfalls; they were approaching fast in their attempts to keep up with the assassin. Sofia was never labeled an 'assassin' - she was an espionage who was required to spy and attain information. However, the job could turn violent. And when it did, she crossed the line into 'assassin'... though she would never admit or adhere to such.
Glancing behind her, the French born girl continued to run - noting the subject of her panic approaching closer and closer, as she ran to the edge of the rooftop. Then with a powerful jump, Sofia cleared the drop, and landed gracefully on the neighboring rooftop before continuing. Thank god that faction of her abilities was there; the agility. The poise. The grace and stamina, Even when dressed in this leather attire. Not to mention how her years of gymnastics were now extremely valuable.
These were the first cops she'd seen in a while who were actually giving a chase. It rarely happened, since their job required them not to be seen... these agents. But sadly, Sofia had no sooner finished the job - than the authorities had come knocking on this guy's hotel door. Other people in the hotel had reported drastic noise complaints against this occupant... which... as it turned out, was Sofia 'finishing the job'. She'd managed to scramble out the window onto the balcony - before climbing up to the roof. But the police were then in hot pursuit.
Normally, she had a good five minutes before they arrived. Plenty of time to escape.
But tonight had NOT gone according to plan, and now, these yahoos were actually chasing her on the rooftops. Javair would undoubtedly talk her ear off about it when she escaped. And she WOULD escape. She had to. Granted, these boys-in-blue were not as agile as Sofia, but had the advantage of weapons. Weapons they were currently firing at her. One had even managed to graze her arm, and was now causing the femme-fetal a great deal of pain, which ultimately, she had to try and ignore until she escaped their sights.
With a well timed jump and flip, Sofia avoided getting hit again, before falling downward to a lower level rooftop and continuing to run and jump over the gaping separations between alley's and neighboring rooftops. With her adrenaline rushing through her body - Sofia counted on her reckless abandoned to make this final jump. Leaping into the air, Sofia fell a few stories - before rolling and rumbling onto the roof below. The cops were running as if they were actually going to ATTEMPT it... however, as they drew close to the edge, the police were forced to skid themselves to a stop. Or face plummeting to their deaths without the acquired accuracy.
Disappearing into the dark shadows of the lower, connected rooftops .... the guards began to catch their breath.
"Dammit!..." One cursed, swatting at the air with furious intent.
The other turned to walk away from the roof's edge. "Don't worry. You got her in the arm, Preston. We'll call the hospitals and tell them to let us know if any females check in with a bullet wound." He grumbled.

Opening her eyes in a flash - Sofia caught her breath, panting in and out as she became aware of her surroundings. Fire. Smoke. Screaming. Debris.
Sitting up, she winced a bit at the pain flashing in her side. Looking down and gripping it, she noticed blood seeping through her shirt. Grunting, Sofia forced herself to get on her hands and knees... her eyes looking around. Others were scattered about the beach area; some dead, others critically injured, and others running around simply screaming in terror and confusion.
Forcing herself to stand on weak legs, Sofia grit her teeth and forced herself to concentrate.
What the hell had happened?...
